Die sieben möglichen isomeren Monomethyl‐3 H ‐phenothiazone‐(3) ( 3a–c und 6a–d ) werden nach drei verschiedenen Methoden dargestellt: a) durch Kondensation des Zinkmercaptids 1 vom o ‐Amino‐thiophenol mit Methyl‐ ( 2a ) oder Halogen‐methyl‐ p ‐benzochinonen ( 2b, c ); b) durch Schwefelung von 4‐Hydroxy‐methyl‐diphenylaminen 4 und durch Oxydation der Methylphenothiazine 7 mit FeCl 3 . Für die zuerst angeführte Umsetzung wird der Reaktionsverlauf diskutiert.
