Die thermische Ablösung des Propinyl‐Restes aus Mono‐ und Dipropinylanilin wird durch Zusatz von Piperidin erleichtert. Der Propinyl‐Rest kann bei der Spaltung in H 2 ‐Atmosphäre abgefangen werden. Durch Disproportionierung entstehen aus Propinylanilin in einer Gleichgewichtsreaktion Anilin und Dipropinylanilin. Letzteres reagiert mit Propinylanilin oder Dipropinylanilin unter Cyclisierung der Dreifachbindungen zu Isoindolin‐Derivaten : 2‐Phenyl‐( l ), 5‐[ N ‐Propinyl‐ N ‐phenyl‐aminomethyl]‐2‐phenyl‐ ( 2 ) und 5‐[Phenylimino‐methyl]‐2‐phenyl‐isoindolin ( 3 ).
