Es wird eine Mikrosynthese von 14 C‐markiertem 2‐Methyl‐4‐amino‐5‐aminomethyl‐pyrimidin (I) hoher spezif. Aktivität, ausgehend von Bariumcarbonat‐ 14 C (23 mC/mMol), beschrieben. I wird von Pilzen, die B 1 ‐autotroph, Pyrimidin‐, Thiazol‐ und Pyrimidin + Thiazol‐bedürftig sind, in Vitamin B 1 eingebaut. Es ist anscheinend eine Zwischenverbindung bei der Biosynthese dieses Vitamins.
