The nmr analysis of a mixture of cryptolepinone and it's 5( N )‐oxide in a 1.5:1 ratio is discussed. The differentiation of the resonances of the two similar compounds, and elucidation of the unknown 5( N )‐oxide relied primarily on IDR‐GHSQC‐TOCSY data in conjunction with ROESY, GHSQC, and GHMBC experiments.
