The new compound 3‐( tert ‐butyl)perhydro‐1,5,3‐dithiazepine has been synthesised from 5‐( tert‐ butyl)perhydro‐1,3,5‐triazin‐2‐one in 45% yield. In the reaction, urea acts as the leaving group being exchanged for the S‐CH 2 ‐CH 2 ‐S fragment of the product.
