The structure of a new heterocyclic ring system, 2,3,7,8‐tetrahydro‐5 H ,10 H ‐[1,5,3]dioxazepino[3,2‐ c ]‐indolo[3,2‐ g ]pteridin‐7‐one, derived from isatins and 5‐aminocytidine was assigned by establishing the regiochemistry with the aid of model reactions and 13 C nmr techniques.
