The preparation of sixteen novel substituted [(10‐ N ‐methyl) and (12‐ N ‐methyl)]‐11‐( o ‐, and p ‐substituted‐anilino)‐5 H ‐dibenzo[ b,e ][1,4]diazepines which have potentially useful pharmacological properties is described. The structure and the isomeric differences in all products was corroborated by ir, 1 H‐nmr, 13 C‐nmr, and mass spectra.
