The synthesis of two previously unknown novel polycyclic heterocyclic ring systems via photocyclization is described. The structural assignment of the isomeric ring systems, 4 and 5 , was achieved by the total assignment of their 1 H and 13 C nmr spectra by the concerted usage of two‐dimensional nmr methods.
