An expeditious and unequivocal synthesis of some 2‐amino‐4‐aryl‐3‐ethoxycarbonyl‐4 H ‐naphtho‐[1,2‐ b ]pyrans 3 is reported. Previous papers describing the preparation of this type of compound have been amended and a convenient and direct procedure for its preparation is now presented.
