Selected 2‐arylidene‐1‐benzosuberones I were condensed with guanidine hydrochloride to give the corresponding substituted 2‐aminopyrimidines II and III respectively. Condensation of chalcones I with benz‐amidine hydrochloride revealed the formation of the corresponding substituted 2‐phenylpyrimidines IV. The structure of all products was substantiated by chemical and spectroscopic methods.
