The 1,4‐dianion of acetophenone N ‐ethoxycarbonylhydrazone reacts with carbonyl compounds such as esters, acyl chlorides, amides and α‐haloketones such as phenacyl chloride, 1‐chloroacetone, 1,3‐dichloroacetone, to produce pyrazole and pyrazoline derivatives in good yields, respectively.
