The spectrophotometric determination of the apparent ionization exponents of 5,6‐dihydrouracil (DHU) and 5,6‐dihydrothymine (DHT) is described. The values of p K ′ α at 37°C and ionic strength of 0.16 are 11.42 for DHU and 11.57 for DHT.
