3,4‐Dihydro‐1,2,4‐triazin‐5‐(2 H )ones were prepared by the reduction of 3‐methylthio‐1,2,4‐triazin‐5‐(2 H )‐ones with sodium borohydride in dimethylformamide. The synthesis appears to be general.
