A series of 1,2,4‐triazolo[3,4‐ a ]benzo[ f ]isoquinolines, which constitutes a new class of polyazasteroidal compounds, were synthesized. A simple synthesis of the diazaphenanthrene alkaloid perlolidine as well as 1,8‐phenanthrolin‐7‐(8 H )one is reported.
