The, facile preparation of 4‐pbenyltetrabydroisoquinolines by the acid‐catalyzed cyclization of 2‐benzylamino‐1‐pbenyletbanols and related compounds is described along with a discussion of the scope, limitations, and possible mechanism of the reaction.
