5‐Unsubstituted 1,2,4‐triazines, when treated with potassium cyanide suspended in moist dioxane afford 5‐carhoxamido as well as 5,5′ ‐bi‐1,2,4‐triazinyl derivatives. A probable reaction sequence is described.
