Treatment of 5,6,11,12‐tetrahydrodibenzo‐[ b, f ][1,2] diazocine with dilute acids affords a spiro ‐1,2,3,4‐tetrahydroquinoline derivative which represents the first isolated stable o ‐semidine rearrangement intermediate.
