N 1 ‐(2‐Methoxy‐4‐pyrimidyl)sulfanilamide was successfully prepared through three alternative routes. Namely, the above compound was obtained by condensation of 4‐amino‐2‐methoxy‐pyrimidine (III) with p ‐acetaminobenzenesulfonyl chloride and p ‐nitrobenzenesulfonyl chloride and by direct condensation with sulfanilamide.
