The synthesis of 1,6‐naphthyridine and of some 4‐substituted 1,6‐naphthyridines are described. The analysis of the NMR spectra and a correlation between the chemical shifts of H 2 , H 5 , H 7 , H 8 , and Brown's σp + values are reported.
