2‐Trideuteriopyridine‐4,6‐d 2 ( 1‐4,6‐d 2 ), 3‐methylpyridine‐2,6‐d 2 ( 2‐2,6‐d 2 ), 3‐methylpyridine‐2,4,6‐d 3 ( 2‐2,4,6‐d 3 ), and 4‐trideuteriopyridine‐2,6‐d 2 ( 3‐2,6‐d 2 ) were synthesized from the appropriate 2‐, 3‐, or 4‐methylpyridine N‐oxides. These deuterated products were characterized by their 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR spectra. J. Heterocyclic Chem., 46 , 213 (2009).
