Design and synthesis of a new series of pharmaceutically interesting curcumin‐derived 4 H ‐pyrans have been accomplished via a one‐pot tandem reaction between curcumin, aromatic aldehydes, and malononitrile under the influence of sodium formate as a mild base in ethanol at ambient conditions. Operational simplicity, mild reaction conditions, use of a cheap and nontoxic organocatalyst and eco‐friendly solvent, and easy isolation of target products are the key benefits associated with the process.
