A multi‐step synthesis of 4,6‐dimethoxyaurone derivatives was carried out from phloroglucinol and chloroacetonitrile, and the products were characterized by 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, and HRMS. The preliminary bioassays showed that some products exhibited herbicidal activity against dicotyledonous plant Brassica campestris L.
