A series of novel 7‐alkyl/aryl sulfonyl‐4‐pyrrol‐1‐yl‐5,6,7,8‐tetrahydro‐pyrido[4′,3′:4,5]thieno[2,3‐d] pyrimidine 6 were synthesized for evaluation of their antibacterial and antifungal activity. The structures were determined by IR, NMR, mass spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. They were screened for activities against bacterial and fungal strains. J. Heterocyclic Chem., (2009).
