A number of N ‐heteroaryl aminonaphthols (Betti bases) were prepared from the reaction of 2‐naphthol, 3‐aminopyridine, and aromatic aldehydes. Subsequent condensation of the prepared Betti bases with oxalyl chloride afforded the novel naphth[1,2‐f][1,4]oxazepine‐3,4‐dione heterocycles in moderate to high yields. J.
