An improved preparation method of 3‐(1,1‐dimethylallyl)decursinol from inexpensive commercially available start material was described. In the cyclization of 13 , silica gel was used as catalyst to give 1 with high purity and satisfying yield. J. Heterocyclic Chem., 46, 560 (2009).
