Sorption properties of the commercially available hexacyanocobaltate(III) complex with respect to the retention of caesium have been studied. The saturation capacities are determined from the adsorption isotherms in solutions of pH 6.5, in M HNO 3 and in simulated medium‐active waste. The solubility of Co(II) hexacyanocobaltate(III) in acid and in alkaline solutions indicates its stability in acid medium. The sorption of caesium on hexacyanocobaltate(III) complex seems to proceed via an ion‐exhcnage mechanism.
