Addition of barium chloride (BaCl 2 .2H 2 O) to alknolamine aids formation of barium carbonates when landfill gas (LFG) is passed through the alkanolamine solution. The process is an economical and efficient way of removing large amounts of CO 2 . Supersaturation plays an important role in this interesting process. Copyright © 2010 Society of Chemical Industry
