Control and γ‐irradiated sea urchin ( Arbacia punctulata ) eggs were incubated with H 3 ‐leucine. No incorporation of the amino acid into the proteins of most unirradiated eggs was detectable by autoradiography. All irradiated eggs incorporated the amino acid and the amount of autoradiographic labelling varied greatly from cell to cell.
