This special issue is a collection of seven articles from the Competencies Conference: Future Directions in Education and Credentialing in Professional Psychology . The articles include an executive summary that provides a broad overview of the conference organization and a summary of the themes that emerged from the six working groups. The workgroups included in this series focused on: (a) Scientific Foundations, (b) Psychological Assessment, (c) Intervention, (d) Individual and Cultural Diversity, (e) Supervision, and (f) Consultation and Interprofessional Collaboration. These article represent one outcome of this conference.
