A new type of organic‐inorganic hybrid hydrogel (OIHH) was prepared under the condition of low air press using SiO 2 nanoparticles as initiator. The obtained OIHH shows a novel microstructures and characteristics that increased salt resistance and proper water absorbency. We investigated the effects of the reaction conditions on the ability of absorbencies. The xerogel showed absorbencies of 339.9 and 102.8 g/g for distilled water and for 0.9 wt% NaCl solution respectively.
