The paper describes the formation of pentacovalent oxaphosphiranes from α‐dizao α‐phosphorylacetates under the Cu(II) catalysis, This unprecedented cyclization reaction is proposed to occur through the addition of the P=O double bond to the in‐situ formed copper carbenoid, followed by the hydrolysis of the phosphorus ylide intermediate.
