In this paper , simultaneous separation and quantification of seven parabens commonly used as preservatives in cosmetic products, by micellar electrokinetic chromatography with a stacking technique has been demonstrated. An on‐line concentration and separation system with a combination of sweeping and use of polymer solutions was tested. This approach was successfully applied in the determination of parabens in four cosmetic product samples and the sensitivity of the analysis was improved. It was empirically shown that such a stacking strategy represents a promising alternative for achieving higher sensitivity and resolution in the analysis of paraben preservatives.
