This ariticle reports a major improvement of the chemiluminescence of luminol by silver nanoparticles prepared by chemical reduction of AgNO 3 in a glycol medium using PVP as capping agent and under microwave irradiation. The luminescence emission is much stronger and faster. The Ag nanoparticles were characterized spectroscopically and by dynamic light scattering showing an average particle size of 36 nm.
