A series of polymers with oligo(ethylene oxide) (OEO) side chains containing aromatic moieties were synthesized through ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP). Their potential usage as electrolytes in secondary lithium batteries was investigated. These polymers, while blended with LiClO 4 , formed amorphous phase with discrete glass transition temperatures (T g ). The interaction between ethylene oxide and lithium ions were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry and solid‐state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Evidence showed that the OEO side chains coordinated to lithium ions effectively comparable to that which happens in regular poly(ethylene oxide) electrolytes.
