An efficient solid‐state method to oxidize aryl‐substituted semicarbazides into their corresponding N ‐aryl‐2‐phenyldiazenecarboxamides with active manganese dioxide (AMD) supported on acidic silica gel is described. With this method, eleven diazenecarboxamides have been synthesized in high yields.
