Decylammonium tetrachlorozincate (n‐C 10 H 21 NH 3 ) 2 ZnCl 4 (C 10 ZnCl), dodecylammonium tetrachlorozincate (n‐C 12 H 25 NH 3 ) 2 ZnCl 4 (C 12 ZnCl) and hexadecylammonium tetrachlorozincate (n‐C 16 H 33 NH 3 ) 2 ZnCl 4 ‐(C 16 ZnCl) were synthesized and a series of their mixtures C 10 ZnCl‐C 16 ZnCl and C 12 ZnCl‐C 16 ZnCl were prepared. The experimental binary phase diagrams of C 10 ZnCl‐C 16 ZnCl and C 12 ZnCl‐C 16 ZnCl were established by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), IR and X‐ray diffraction. In the phase diagram a stable solid compound and two eutectoid invariants were observed. It is noticeable that the phase diagram contains solid solution ranges.
