Abstract Candida rugosa lipase from Sigma was subjected to an agarose mercurial column, and the three fractions thus collected were further desalted using a Sephadex G‐25 column. The purification of these isozymes increases their catalytic activities toward the hydrolysis of triacetin. An improved resolution on the hydrolysis of 2‐chloroethyl 2‐phenylpropionate was also observed by utilizing one of the isolated isozymes CRL II.
