Elvirol methyl ether has been synthesized from p ‐cresol via 2‐(2‐cyclopentenyl)‐4‐methylphenyl methyl ether by ozonolysis, dithioacetalization, reduction, and Wittig reaction. The over all yield was 18.8%.
