We apply the two‐potential distorted‐wave approximation to study the electron‐impact ionization of He‐like ions. The relativistic and non‐relativistic total cross sections for incident energies from 1 to 10 ionization‐energy units are calculated. Results are compared with other theoretical calculations and experimental data. Systematic behaviors along the isoelectronic sequence are studied.
