Cathodic dehalogenation of 4‐halosydnones was conducted with a mercury electrode at a constant potential (−0.5 – −1.0 vs SCE). The combination of cathodic dedromination of 4‐bromosydnones on a mercury electrode with anodic bromination/chlorination of 3‐substituted sydnones with a platinum electrode in a divided electrolytic cell produced sydnone derivatives with a total current yield 87 ∼ 168%.
