A new pentanortriterpenoid, 1‐ O ‐methylclausenolide ( 1 ) and a known limonoid, zapoterin ( 4 ) were isolated from the stem bark of Clausena excavata (Rutaceae). Their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis and chemical transformation.
