The dehydration of PhCH 2 NO 2 (1a), PhCOCH 2 NO 2 (1b), and MeOOCCH 2 NO 2 (1c) with SOCl 2 in the presence of Et 3 N gave three corresponding nitrile oxides. Each nitrile oxide was trapped by various dipolarophiles to obtain the cycloadducts of 2‐isoxazolines.
