Phase‐transfer catalysts (PTC) promoted synthesis of sulfur‐ and phosphorus‐ylide complexes of Pd(II), Pt(II) and Au(I). Because in most cases, the presence of PTC enhances the rate of formation of ylide complexes, this method is advantageous over the conventional one under anhydrous conditions. Reactions of these ylide complexes are described. Basic hydrolysis of dppm (dppm = Ph 2 PCH 2 PPh 2 ) in Pt‐dppm complexes was also promoted by PTC and produces PPh 2 Me and PPh 2 O − (or PPh 2 OH) ligands. Other products from various Pt‐dppm reactions are discussed.
