Abstract Mössbauer and magnetic studies on the spin‐state transitions in various complexes of iron(II) and iron(III) ions have received considerable attention. The present account deals with some examples of the effects of intraligand substitution and sample size on the spin‐state transitions of 5 T 2 ↔ 1 A 1 for iron(II) and 6 A 1 ↔ 2 T 2 for Iron(III)‐complexes. A new instance of 3 T 1 ↔ 5 T 2 spin‐crossover Fe(II)‐complex is reported.
