The cotelomerization of ethylene and vinyl chloride with carbon tetrachloride was studied under various reaction conditions by using the amine‐metallic salt initiating system. From the GC and NMR spectra, we found that no cotelomerization occured. This is contrary to the findings determined by Rosin et al. The modified insertion mechanism proposed by Asahada and Wu was used to explain the experimental results.
