Mössbauer and ir spectroscopies have been applied to the study of radiation effect on Fe 11 X(CN) 3 (X=NO + , NH 3 , H 2 O, NO 2 − , SO 3 = ) and Fe 111 X(CN) 3 (X=NH 1 , H 2 O, NO 2 − ). Fe(II) complexes were not oxidized to Fe(III), whereas Fe(III) complexes were reduced to Fe(II). Na 2 [FeNH 3 (CN) 3 ]·H 2 O was partially reduced at 7 hour irradiation, but [FeNO(CN) 2 ] = was obtained at the longer irradiations due to the replacement of H by O produced by water radiolysis.
