Tricyclopentadienyl cerïum(IV) chloride has been treated with various primary and secondary alcohols in benzene medium in the presence of triethylamine to give compounds, (C 5 H 5 ) 3 Ce(OR) wherein R may be CH 3 C 2 H 3 , n ‐C 2 H 3 , iso ‐C 3 H 7 , N ‐C 4 H 9 , iso ‐C 4 H 9 and iso ‐C 3 H 11 . Infrared spectra and some physical characteristics of all these compounds and reported.
