This is an experimental study of the hydrogen‐bonded butanediols. Infrared spectra of those butanediols were recorded for pure liquid and vapor phase. Although those molecules do not have any symmetry, with the aid of normal coordinate analysis of n ‐butane, assignments have been made for all observed infrared frequencies.
