The principle product of acrylonitrile compounds could be analyzed by gas chromatography with fast, accurate and good results. The compounds which were made by liquefied petroleum gases (L.P.G.), ammonia and air with catalyst of Pt gauze at high temperature in the reactor, were identified and calculated according to their peak areas as following: hydrogen cyanide was 4.1% by volume, acrylonitrile was 75.7%, acetonitrile was 9.1% and ethylcyanide was 11.1%.
