The method of Winchester (2) for the determination of potassium by nondestructive activation analysis has been applied to the determination of soil potassium. The experiments with seven soil samples of known potassium content gave good results. However, large discrepencies that existed between the nondestructive method and the flame photometry were shown by another set of twelve samples to be due to the statistical error in the activity measurements.
